Project Two

In preparation for the second project in my typography class, I have placed several Marc Eckō logos on my blog. I have always liked the rhinoceros image that has been used in the past, but I'm not sure what I think of the newer image of the scissors, with a skull image used in the handle. The font that goes with scissors is interesting and I could be inspired by that much of it.

It Keeps Going and Going and...

I really like the look of the Energizer font. It breaks the rule of typography concerning never slanting your woodmark, but it's still effective. I think the slant of the letters gives the typeface the appearance of movement, which fits perfectly with the product. Researching the font that was used, I found it closely resembles the font Condor Bold Italic. The word 'max' is a different font, but I'm not sure what it is. I do know that I like whatever font was used on the word 'max' and it gives the overall appearance a futuristic look that is very appealing to me.

Road To Oz

The Road To Oz is a comic book mini-series written by Eric Shanower, with art by Skottie Young, from Chicago. This is the cover to issue five and the entire series will be put into trade paperback in a couple of months. WhatTheFont.com kept coming up with errors when trying to decipher the type. I really like how Road To Oz is two different fonts, but the letters 'O' and 'Z' really take the cake and fit nicely with Skottie's style.
